Antonio Roberts and Tyger Blue will lead a beginner's workshop on creating generative music using VCV Rack.
VCV Rack is a free and open-source software-based modular synthesiser.
The workshop begins with a brief history of modular synthesisers and their differences from DAW or timeline-based workflows.
The main focus of the workshop will be on understanding different waveforms (sine, sawtooth, square etc) for creating sounds and generative melodies. Participants will then build their own monophonic synthesiser, controllable via computer keyboard or other inputs.
By the end participants will have a basic understanding of VCV Rack and using modules to shape sounds and create generative music.
